The machine provides active and passive safety devices, described in this manual, to protect the health and safety of personnel who operate or maintain the machine.
PASSIVE SAFETY DEVICES
a Full upper casing (1), protecting the tools slide.
b Front and back casing (2), for the protection of the driving cylinder.
c Guards (3) with vents protecting the hydraulic and electric parts.
d Control pedal (4) with protective housing. The housing is capable of retaining the operator's shoe. This will prevent any slipping of the foot and any displacements of the pedal, thus minimizing the risk of the operator falling.
e Fixed cover (5A) for future optional equipments installation.
f Mobile cover (5) for the slotting area (if required), also ensuring a safe distance, to prevent the operator's upper limbs from reaching the cutting area.
g Mobile guard (6). This guard prevents the accidental fall of the detent (7).
h Mobile detent (7) hinged to the frame of the machine. Its purpose is to protect upper limbs and hold the workpiece on the punching station. The detent can be adjusted vertically to the thickness of the workpiece but cannot be excluded without intentionally loosening the safety knob (8), which is an integral part of the machine functionality.
i Mobile presser (9) also acting as guard to keep a safe distance between the operators upper limbs and the cutting area.
j Automatic locking guards (10) opening when a workpiece is fed and closing by gravity.
k Electrical equipment cabinet (11). Can only be unlocked with the appropriate key or with mechanical means.
NOTE
The cabinet can only be opened when the equipment is off, i.e. when the main switch is in the "O" position.
ACTIVE SAFETY DEVICES
a Emergency red mushroom button (12) located on the control pedal stick (4). The foot pedal unit can be moved around so it is always within the operator's range. The activation of the button will cause the machine to immediately stop.
b Main switch IG (13) with safety lock. When the switch is in the "I" (circuits powered up) position, the safety lock will prevent the electrical equipment cabinet from being opened.
c Single position control pedal (4). The pedal is fitted with a locking device in the idle position, which means that in order to use the pedal, the operator must have his foot completely inside the slot (to release the lock).
d Safety microswitch (14) to control the correct position of the punching station accident prevention guard (7).
e Safety microswitch (15) to control the correct position of the slotting station (optional) accident prevention guard (5).
f Downstroke and upstroke limit switches (16), controlled by cams that can be adjusted by means of flywheels (17), and installed on a guide directly connected to the tool slide. These limit switches also act as stroke limiting devices for the optimisation of the working cycles.
g Hydraulic unit (18) operated by an electric motor (19), complete with thermal protection devices protecting against overload and overheating.
h Maximum pressure valve (20) with set, programmed opening and sealed. It protects against machine and motor overload.
